…with Francis Farrell
I have had an interest in health and fitness all my adult life. Over time I found that my passion lies in being as fit and healthy as I possibly can be and guiding others to achieve the same for themselves. Through working in the health and fitness industry for a number of years I came to realise that in order to achieve and maintain optimal health and fitness you need to address multiple areas, such as your mindset, nutrition, movement and recovery, amongst others.
In the long term, if you neglect one of these areas, it will likely lead to a deterioration in your health. What led me to this conclusion was my struggle with my own health and weight whilst working as a fitness instructor. I was having to train harder and harder to maintain my fitness trainer physique and my body was aching more and more. After large amounts of research and discussions with other health professionals I came to the conclusion that my diet was nowhere near as healthy as I had led myself to believe. I realised that I needed a more comprehensive understanding of what is required to achieve and maintain good health and ideally optimal health. I decided that I would undertake whatever training was necessary for me to reach that goal.
I trained as a Nutritional Therapist and spent three years in classrooms and clinics learning the importance of nutrition in combating sub optimal health and helping clients to feel healthy again. I also realised that no matter how much you want to do the right thing for your health, quite often it’s difficult to make permanent changes. It’s easy to slide back into bad habits or have a bad day and just feel overwhelmed. Over the years I have helped people to make the changes they desire and enabled them to reach the standards in their lives that they wish to live by on a day to day basis.
